Hi folks, I was happy to see the Middletown cruising north by St. Clair this afternoon on my way home from work, and the Candian Olympic was right behind her! It brought up a question that I have been wanting to post, but never remember. (until now) Is there any advantage to having the shape of the bow chisled, like an axehead (like the Middletown and Lee A.) or is it better to have it wide and virtually flat, like the CDN Olympic and American Spirit? I know the newer, larger ships also have that bulb at the bottom of the bow. Does having that bulb give the ship some stability? Sorry for all the questions, I've just noticed that the newer ships have a quite vastly different hull construction and wasn't sure why. Thanks in advance for any responses. Dave Jandron
