Go to Radio Shack and buy a scanner that has the marine frequencies. Doesn't have to be expensive, but should be programmable. Go to Boatnerd main page, click on Facts & Figures, click on Scanner Frequencies. Print it off to carry with you as you travel to different parts of the Lakes. A magnetic-mount car antennae helps reception a lot.
