brian the Coast Guard has gone the way of CAT's for the parts availability aspect for one reason with the new wlm/wlb's built by marinette marine the all have cat power and cat gensets as will the new mackinaw with the current mackinaw for example its very hard to get parts for her unless you know a few people and still can be a pain by going to a single mfg they can stock pile parts and ship them to the respective ships when they are needed
