I show a B. J. Bennett was on the Richard Trimble in 1967, the William A. Irvin in 1968, and the William A. Irvin in 1969. Richard Trimble 1967: W. E. Rogers (Captain), M. S. Abbott (Chief Engineer), S. J. Taylor (First Mate), E. E. Gronroos (Second Mate), and B. J. Bennett (Third mate). William A. Irvin 1968: S. J. Kidd (Captain), J. J. Walker (Chief Engineer), N. T. Nelson (First Mate), L. G. Rybski (Second Mate), and B. J. Bennett (Third Mate). William A. Irvin 1969: S. J. Kidd (Captain), B. E. Redmond (Chief Engineer), R. G. Carr (First Mate), L. G. Rybski (Second Mate), and B. J. Bennett (Third Mate). I don't know if this is the same individual but I also show a B. J. Bennett was sailing as Third Mate on the D. G. kerr in 1944. The Trimble and the Kerr have been scrapped but the William A. Irvin is still around as a museum in Duluth.
