There will be an investigation and that will determine what happens. Fender benders during ice ops are pretty common. I have been in so many that I have lost count. I really depends on what causes the accident-engineering problem etc. Sometimes when you are working a vessel the ice just gives way and you don't have time to back down and you have a fender bender as I call them.I would guess and I have assisted on some of these investigations that unless there was gross negligence nothing will happen. This also depends on the Captains past performance and who was actually conning the ship when it happened.
