A few winters back December 2000 I got a chance to come on the Joe Thompson Jr. at lay up in Escanaba. While looking around the engine room I was told her 3 16 cylinder GE diesels were Z-Belt diesels. Now pardon my lack of knowledge the only engines I have ever had actually work time on our Colt-Pielsticks with a Faulk reduction gear to one shaft. By Z-Belt do they mean the linkage between the engines and shafts or Reduction gear is a belt? Im pretty sure the Joe JR is not a Z drive so what was ment by this? Brian
