A few years ago, I bought a marine generating unit off a chum of mine. He got it in the early sixties off a guy named Claude Johnson. It came off of a lakeboat but my friend can't remember the name of the boat and Claude is long gone. The tag on the single cylinder steam engine says Marine Engine No 4214 Form D Speed 450 Size 61/2 x 5 Capacity 10 KW Canadian General Electric Ltd Toronto Peterboro The tag on the generator says Continuous Current Generator No 157018 Type MP Class6-10-1 Form O Amp01 Speed 450 Volts no load 110 Full load 110 Patd 1880,1881,1892,1894,1895 Canadian General Electric Co. Ltd Toronto Peterboro Also on the generator is a tag that says Montreal Armature Works Ltd Montreal Canada 10 KW Volts 110 RPM Amps 1 Cycles Phase Serial No 32478 I contacted GE in Peterboro but they have nothing in their files. I tried to contact Montreal Armature but they are not listed in the phone book. Would anyone have any other ideas? I have the unit restored and operating but would like to have some history on the unit. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
