Thanks for the kind words about the photos. I spent 5 days in the UP so I managed to go to lots of places I haven't been in years. Bruce: Based on what Franz said, the Doughboy Jr. is the fishtug I saw at the lower entry of the Keweenaw Waterway (Across the waterway from Jacobsville). It is the photo labeled possibly KB301.******* Franz: Knotty Bear was at Houghton from at least Tuesday evening until Friday morning. Probably waiting out weather. You could see where they just re-welded the pilot house back on, and the side "wheels" were stored for transit on the upper deck.****** The green and white fishtug is on blocks in th village of Dollar Bay,at what I believe is another yard of Julio's. This is about 4 miles east of their Ripley yard, just east of the new Coast Guard Station. Its on the land side of the old building, so you probably can't see it from the water, unless you go way up into Dollar Bay. I can send driving directions if you want.******* The Spirit (and Sandra Lee) are in what I think is called Grand Traverse Bay Harbor. Its where the Traverse River dumps into Grand Traverse Bay, on the east side of the Keweenaw Peninsula, a few miles south and west of Gay. Very small harbor, that has been a fishing village for years.
