Hi Don. You are right it was called the Turkey Trail because it was so crooked. I sailed on the Norgoma out of Owen Sound in the 50's. We made stops at Killarney, Manitowaning, Little Current, Kagawong, GoreBay, Meldrum Bay, Cockburn Island, Thessalon, Richards Landing, Hilton Beach and then the Soo. If you follow this route on a chart you would see how it would resemble a turkey trail.
