Here's more correct information. Diamond S.S.Co. was formed 11 October 1939. Hindman Transportation Co. was formed 23 July 1943. George Hindman was part owner or chartered 4 boats before Diamond was formed. The fleet consisted of 14 steamers, 5 barges and 1 tug. Captain George Hindman passed away 27 February 1969. The company (5 remaining boats) was sold 15 May 1978 to Quebec & Ontario Trans. Co. Hindman Trans. Co. ceased to exist 16 March 1981. Diamond S.S. Co. ceased to exist 18 January 1990.
