I was at the Sturgeon Bay Maritime Museum and was told that the Ryerson like the Fitzgerald, being a straight decker, could not be converted to a self unloader. Yet, the Algomarine was a straight decker and it now is a self unloader. Why can't the Ryerson be converted too?
