Nearly forty years ago I checked out some old old rotten wooden shipwreck stuff near the Missasagi straits lighthouse that a local oldtimer and library swore were dated from the Griffin time. My experience with wind and wave direction in that area of northern Lake Huron say this would be a logical area for the Griffin with the timing of the storm after she left port and them seeking shelter from it. Thats all I remember about it, for whatever slight value my comments are.
