Harold, the Wisconsin River still produces hydroelectric, but it is a finite resource that has been far exceeded by our usages. The Fox River also has hydroelectric, but this is at capacity for the most part. The environmentalists are taking dams out, not putting them in. Check with the Wisc. DNR website about dam removal projects. No new permits for nuclear plants have been issued for years. Please do not reference the TVA as an example of efficient power generation, they are mostly fossil fuel and failed nuke plants powered by government money in some of the most wasteful use of public funds ever. A better reference is the Columbia River, but the environmentalists are trying to remove dams on it. Go figure.
