Thank you for this insight Marine Safety. I am surprised a pleasure steamboat doesn't need a boiler certificate to operate. I guess there are not enough steamboats in operation to make this feasible. I quests most "pleasure-steamboaters" must rely on their own knowledge and safety procedures to run a safe vessel. Due to the cost of an inspection, we would probably see even fewer steamers if such a regulation did exist.
