Hi Rn- Years ago, I read one of Dwight Boyer's books that had a chapter dedicated to the mystery of the Griffon's wreck location. He mentioned two possible wreck sites. Whether or not one site was off Tobermory and the other in the "Mississaugi" straights, I cannot remember off hand. Boyer's book was published in '66, almost ten years after "The fate of the Griffon". Like I said, Boyer mentions two sites and does not conlcude either is the correct one. So, I was surprised to find that, "The fate of the Griffon" identifies the site off Tobermory as the correct location with certainty. C.H.J. Snider (a distinguished Great Lakes authority) is quoted as agreeing that the Tobermory wreck is the Griffon. Anyway, I am more interested in getting my question about a model answered than in debating the wreck location. Sincerely- Geoff Steer
