The Block cleared Rock Island at 0430 this morning and has two more trips to escanaba, with the sykes has three and due in at 1900 tomorrow. They are planing to use the ship canal. The ice around rock island and even down to the door is only aobut 8 to 12 inches thick with open water from 1 mile south of sand point to Minneapolis. as of this morning
