I was a wheelman on the Str. Charles M. White during that storm. We were a weather reporting ship and i have the weather log for those days. We were bucking 70kn+ winds on our run up Lake Michigan going to Escanaba. I remember when we turned west into Deaths Door that the wind from the North made us roll terribly until we made the turn North again once inside Green Bay. We had encountered 20+ waves most of the way up the lake. i will post the weather report in the Photo section under historical perspectives tomorrow.
